Special Notes
Run in memory of Ed Gill, the founder and owner of Harry's Cajun Restaurant and Bar in Hyannis, this fast 5K celebrates Ed's dedication to running and the Cape Cod running community. While Ed left us in 2008 after a battle with cancer, his influence is still felt at events Cape-wide. After the race, runners and their friends are treated to a cookout with fresh mussels, chowder, cheeseburgers and hot dogs donated by Stony Island Seafarm, the Yardarm, Harry's, and other local merchants. Gift certificates for top 3 finishers in age-groups and overall winners ensure that almost everybody leaves with something. Walkers and bicyclists are also welcome to participate in an un-timed, fun roll around the course. Although there is little support on course, the route is well marked and assistance is never very far away.

The Course
Starting at the crest of Namskaket Road, head down the hill and take a sharp left on to Rock Harbor Road. Be careful of footing at the turn, especially when wet as there is a large puddle at the corner. Follow Rock Harbor Road to the harbor and then turn right and follow Rock Harbor Road to the bike path overpass. Turn left on to the bike path entrance and take a hard right on to the overpass bridge when you reach the bike path. Follow the bike path back to Orleans center and then turn right on Main Street. Follow the road down the hill and then turn left back on to Namskaket Road. The finish is at the intersection of Namskaket and Child's Homestead Road, directly across from the Odd Fellows Hall. Mile 1 is at Rock Harbor, mile 2 is passed at the entrance to the bike path on ramp, and mile 3 is just before the last turn on to Namskaket Road.
Getting There
Take Route 6 to exit 12 and head north on Route 6A. At the second set of stoplights, turn left on to Main Street and head down the hill to Namskaket Road. Parking at the start is limited but there is adequate parking at the Hot Chocolate Sparrow, Snow's, Nickerson Home Centers, and the shopping center on Old Colony Way, all of which are within a 1/2 mile of the race start/finish.
