CCAC Annual Awards Banquet Honors Cape Athletes – 6 February 2009

A blazing fire in the hearth, a jolly bar, and the warm welcome of Joanne Creel, Bob Eckerson and John Worgan greeted over 125 of the Cape’s multisport athletes and runners to the annual CCAC Awards Banquet at the Dennis Inn on a chilly February evening.  All the women received roses at the door from the honorable Messrs. Eckerson and Worgan in honor of St. Valentine’s Day.  After chit-chat and some warming at the bar, members settled down to a delicious meal catered by the inn and then recognized all the Winter Grand Prix winners, special performers and performances of the past year, and Runners of the Year.  Pete Stringer accompanied Janet Kelly as the pair were inducted into the Hall of Fame for 2009.  After all awards were accounted for, Eddie Lohse manipulated the computer keys for another few hours as iPod DJ of the dance floor.

(Dragged by Cathy Whitelaw to the second Grand Prix, she grudgingly walked – by the end she was nearly running, and some report, almost having a good time!)

Honorable Mention: Tom Tuttle – – 45.46
